Nurse Call Servicing
Notice Description
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is one of the largest NHS organisations in the UK which provides day to day health services to a population of around 472,400 people living in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. The Health Board consists of two main sites, the University Hospital of Wales (UHW), and the University Hospital Llandough (UHL). There are also several smaller Community Hospitals and numerous clinics which all come within the Health Boards property portfolio. This tender specification refers to the servicing of Nurse Call Equipment across UHB sites in line with HTM 08-03. The purpose of the servicing is to ensure the reliable operation of the nurse call system to support patient care and staff communication. The successful Contractor shall carryout comprehensive servicing of all components within the nurse call system. The Contractor shall be responsible for producing a detailed maintenance logs for each serviced unit, detailing inspections, tests any repairs or replacements recommended. The Contractor shall: 1) Visual inspection and service all hardware components for signs of wear, damage or corrosion (photographic evidence required for any damages). 2) Functional testing of nurse call buttons, communication channels, and alarm features. 3) Testing of back up power systems to ensure functionality during power outages. 4) An allowance shall be made to replace batteries in each system detailed in appendices A - E on the first inspection and again at the start of the fourth-year inspections. 5) Contractor shall allow to provide, within their tender, to provide a suitable inspection sheet (electronically) to provide information required above. 6) Report on general condition of all ancillary components within Medical service trunking including small power sockets, Medical Gas outlets, Bedhead Lamps, etc., including a description with quantity and type of outlets above outlets. 7) As shown on the tender summary sheet, a provisional sum of 10,000.00 GBP has been allowed for within Year 1 cost for a detailed survey of UHB properties to identify any nurse call systems that have not been included for in this tender. The Contracting Authority reserves the right to award the contract in whole, in part or annul the tendering process and not award any contract. 2. Bidders should note that they will be required to enter into terms and conditions of contract as set out in the ITT and that save for matters of clarification or consistency the Contracting Authority will not negotiate the terms. 3. The Contracting Authority will not accept completed ITT's after the stated closing date. 4. All documents to be priced (where applicable) in sterling and all payments made in sterling. 5. All tender costs and liabilities incurred by bidders shall be the sole responsibility of the bidders. 6. Prospective suppliers should note that NHS Shared Services Partnership - Procurement Services is acting on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board.
Renewal: An option to extend for a further two years, to be taken in annual tranches at the sole discretion of the Health Board.
