Design & Build of Interpretation & Front of House Flagship Heritage Attraction at H/west Castle
Notice Description
Pembrokeshire County Council (PCC) in partnership with the new Haverfordwest Castle CIO (the CIO) have been successful in gaining development phase funding from National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) towards the redevelopment of Haverfordwest Castle. The project aims to create an interactive family discovery centre showcasing Pembrokeshire's past, present, and future through state-of-the-art STEM-based exhibits, together with a redisplay of the Haverfordwest Museum (within the curtilage of the castle in the Governor's House), external interpretation within the grounds of the castle and a wide-ranging activity plan supporting the capital investment. As part of the development phase, which will run from late summer 2024 to autumn 2025, PCC is seeking to appoint a consultancy on a two-stage design and build contract. The first stage (preconstruction services agreement) of this contract will involve preparing an interpretation and front of house (FOH) plan (to RIBA stage 3) which will be submitted as an appendix of the second-round (delivery phase) NLHF funding application, scheduled for submission in November 2025. If the NLHF delivery phase funding application is successful, the second stage of this contract will take the RIBA stage 3 plans through to completion (RIBA 7).NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
