Summary of the contracting process

The Canal & River Trust is soliciting tenders for an "Event Management, Production and Delivery Contract" in Wrexham through an open procurement method. This tender falls under the services industry category, specifically focusing on event services. The events will take place on the 27th and 28th of September 2025 in Wrexham Rural locations such as Trevor Basin and Froncysyllte. Interested bidders must submit their expressions of interest, including relevant experience, by 24th July 2025. Interviews will be held on 28th July 2025, with the contract awarded shortly thereafter. The procurement stage is currently in the tender phase, seeking proposals for managing and executing cultural and community-led activities funded via the Wrexham County Borough Council World Heritage Site Project.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in event management and production, especially those with experience in coordinating cultural events. Given the scale and variety of activities planned, including community-led and heritage-focused events, firms with expertise in managing multiple stakeholders, coordinating logistics, and overseeing public events would be particularly well-suited. Businesses able to provide a comprehensive event plan, manage volunteers, and liaise with local authorities on logistical aspects such as traffic and security will find this tender advantageous for establishing or expanding their presence in high-profile cultural events. The project’s focus on community integration and cultural heritage further indicates potential growth for businesses specialising in heritage and community event services.
