Notice Description
Aberdeenshire Council is seeking proposals to enter into a long-term agreement for beneficial use of the Landfill Gas (LFG) generated at Crows Nest landfill. The Contractor shall at its sole cost design, permit, construct, own, operate, maintain and ultimately decommission and remove, a landfill gas beneficial use project which will utilise the landfill gas, in a beneficial way, generate revenue to the Council, enhance environmental compliance and reduce carbon emissions.

Aberdeenshire Council is seeking proposals to enter into a long-term agreement for beneficial use of the Landfill Gas (LFG) generated at Crows Nest landfill. The Contractor shall at its sole cost design, permit, construct, own, operate, maintain and ultimately decommission and remove, a landfill gas beneficial use project which will utilise the landfill gas, in a beneficial way, generate revenue to the Council, enhance environmental compliance and reduce carbon emissions. The Council prefers a base contract term of 5 years with an option to renew for up to additional two (2) years. The Council's sole discretion to renew will be subject to satisfactory performance by the Contractor. The Council will not guarantee any minimum or maximum quantity or quality of landfill gas now or in the future. The most recent data on quantity and quality is contained in Appendices VI and VII of the Invitation To Tender. The Contractor may terminate the contract by giving a notice to the Council to that effect, if landfill gas quality and/ quantity diminishes to unsustainable levels (to be provided upfront by the Contractor) for the project.
