Volunteer Support Unit Breathing Apparatus Stowage Modifications
Notice Description
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) have a requirement to adapt the stowage configuration for the retention of Breathing Apparatus Sets (BA) on a number of Mercedes Vario Volunteer Support Units (VSU). There is a requirement for the removal of the BA Quick Release Frames from their current location within the Crew Cab of these vehicles and for them to be relocated and securely fitted in an appropriate location within the rear equipment lockers of the vehicles. This will also involve the re configuration of the stowage for any affected lockers to retain existing equipment displaced by the movement of the BA Frames.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) have a requirement to adapt the stowage configuration for the retention of Breathing Apparatus Sets (BA) on a number of Mercedes Vario Volunteer Support Units (VSU). There is a requirement for the removal of the BA Quick Release Frames from their current location within the Crew Cab of these vehicles and for them to be relocated and securely fitted in an appropriate location within the rear equipment lockers of the vehicles. This will also involve the re configuration of the stowage for any affected lockers to retain existing equipment displaced by the movement of the BA Frames. This will cover a range of vehicles constructed from 1997 to 2011, built by various body manufacturers and with various locker and stowage layouts. All of the vehicles to be adapted are from our West Service Delivery Fleet Area and this will consist of up to twenty two (22) vehicles. To maintain our Operational Requirements SFRS require that the vehicles are worked on one at a time and that all vehicles are collected by the successful tenderer from an agreed SFRS Location and returned on a one for one basis until all vehicle modifications have been completed.. Economic Operators may be excluded from this competition if they are in any of the situations referred to in Regulation 58 of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015.
