Summary of the contracting process

The North Lanarkshire Council is seeking tender submissions for the "Transport of Pupils with Additional Support Needs 2017-2020". This multi-lot contract aims to provide transportation services for school pupils with Additional Support Needs (ASN) across North Lanarkshire. The procurement process is currently at the active tender stage, with submissions due by 12:00 PM on 3rd May 2017. Approximately 122 contracts will be awarded, each having a single supplier per lot. The total estimated value of this procurement is £4,380,000, covering services to be executed during the school term from August 2017 to June 2020.

This tender presents significant opportunities for transport companies, especially those specialised in catering to individuals with additional support needs. Businesses with the necessary vehicle specifications, PGV registration, and insurance coverage are encouraged to participate. Companies that can offer experienced drivers and potentially provide escort services, as required for specific contracts, would be particularly well-suited to compete in this tendering process. This initiative is also suitable for smaller transport providers or micro-businesses, as many of the lots are expected to be for individual pupils, allowing for inclusion in the bid process.
