CalMac Ferries Ltd (CFL) requires external supplier support (Contractor) in order to ensure that all Ships Gangways (approximately 90) and associated Lifting Accessories, those which are the responsibility of CFL, are and remain compliant with both legal and contractual requirements. Any gangways used for Argyll Ferries Ltd (AFL) are nominally included within this scope. The required scope of works and the frequency of each item can be summarised as follows: Ongoing Examination of Ships Gangways - Annual Deflection Testing of Ships Gangways - 5 Yearly Weighing of Ships Gangways - One Off Improvements to Ships Gangways - One Off Ongoing Examination of associated Lifting Accessories - Annual Certification of Ships Gangways & associated Lifting Accessories - As Required

The outline requirement is as follows: To ensure that all ships gangways and associated lifting accessories under the responsibility of CFL remain compliant with current regulatory standards and are fit for purpose by: - Examining and certifying all gangways and gangway components within each running 12 month period; - Static Load testing all gangways at every five-yearly examination, or following any relevant structural repair; - Weighing all gangways to determine self weight of each main gangway section; - Carrying out limited and agreed improvements and upgrades to gangways, including supply and fitting of inclinometers, standardisation and fitting of identification plates, fitting of outstanding asset plates and photographic record document creation, as required; - Examining and certifying all lifting accessories within each running six-monthly period; - Keeping records in order to create and submit agreed reports on gangway and lifting accessories examinations, defects, observations and recommendations in both hard and soft copy forms as required; - Assisting CFL to ensure that any non-conformance elements are identified and rectified so far as reasonably practicable; - Advising and, where agreed assisting, CFL to ensure that suitable and agreed methods and systems for gangway and lifting accessories management are identified and utilised;
