Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government is seeking project management services for engaging fishermen in marine environmental survey and monitoring throughout Scotland. This procurement, valued at £165,000, is currently at the active tender stage, with submissions closing on 1st August 2017. The project is funded by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) and aims to enhance collaboration between the fishing industry, scientific community, and government entities, commencing in April 2017. The open procedure allows for wide participation, providing opportunities for suppliers to present their proposals electronically.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in project management, environmental consulting, and marine research. Companies with expertise in working with the fishing sector, particularly those familiar with marine biodiversity and monitoring projects, are particularly well-positioned to compete. Additionally, firms should have the capacity to demonstrate stringent quality management procedures and relevant insurance coverages, ensuring compliance with the tender’s requirements to foster trust and reliability in marine conservation efforts.
