Summary of the contracting process

The Midlothian Council is seeking additional resources for weather-related duties through an open tender process aimed at establishing a framework agreement with multiple suppliers. This initiative, titled "Additional Resources for Weather Related Duties," is classified under general public services and is located in Midlothian, UK. The procurement process is currently in the active stage, with the tender period ending on 9 October 2017. This procurement is anticipated to provide varied labour and plant resources to assist the Council’s Roads Operations during snow and adverse weather conditions, with a budget of £750,000.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in winter maintenance services, such as suppliers of bulk gritters, HGV drivers, operated plant, and vehicle hire. Companies with capabilities in providing labour resources, particularly those experienced in winter maintenance and equipped with relevant vehicles and equipment, would be well-suited to compete. There is potential for ongoing contracts, with options for renewal after the initial contract period, further enhancing the viability of investment in this area.
