Lot 1
The work involves the removal and replacement of insulation from existing cavities in hard to treat domestic properties. The budget includes the upgrading of 359 houses in Hawick, Selkirk, Galashiels, Earlston, Kelso and Jedburgh. This programme concentrates on privately owned single/two storey houses, terraced, mid terraced houses constructed between 1950 and 1991 in these areas. The programme also includes the installation of additional energy improvement measures including: Draught proofing Radiator Panels TRV's Room stats LED's fittings that would take LED This will help reduce fuel costs, reduce carbon foot print, ands make a significant difference to the thermal comfort of the property and give the occupant effective control of their heating system.. Scottish Borders Council is awarding this business after conducting a Mini Competition from the Scotland Excel framework. The contractors invited to tender were selected from Scotland Excel's, Framework 09-13 Energy Efficiency Contractors, Sublot 2.1 External Wall Insulation.
