Award of Infrared Permanent Repairs to Carriageway Surfaces 2017-2018
Notice Description
1.IntroductionClackmannanshire Councils' Development and Environment Services Department wish to engage the Services of a Contractor suitably experienced and qualified in carrying out infrared repairs to carriageway potholes.2. General Summary(i) Contract duration: The Contract is within the period 01/10/16 to 31/03/17 at dates to be specified. A minimum of 2 weeks notice will be provided.(ii) Contract Value: The Contract value will be up to a maximum of PS45,000.003. Specification(i) Infrared road repair process(ii) Suitable for repairs to road surface materials including asphalt, macadam and surface dressing(iii) Provides permanent repairs up to 100mm depth(iv) Repair types includes joint failures, trench reinstatements, pavement defects, reinstatements of failed joints and seams around ironwork in carriageways(v) Recycles all waste in-situ(vi) Joint free repairs(vii) Recycles existing road surfacing material, bonded to a minimum amount of new material where required(viii)Infrared heater min. size 1m x 1m(ix) Works will be in accordance with Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works, Volume 1, Series 900, Specification for Highway Works, Road Pavements [Section 946, Part 8].' Using proprietary in-situ recycling repair systems incorporating indirect infra red heating having an appropriate British Board of Agrement HAPAS Roads and Bridges Certificate' .4. Item Coverage(i) Inclusive of full traffic management requirements. Traffic volumes anticipated will permit temporary traffic control by Stop/Go boards and associated signing, all in accordance with 'Safety at Street Works and Road Works - A Code of Practice'.(ii) Any additional personnel required for traffic management.(iii) All supplementary materials required(iv) Sweep detritus from road surface and remove to tip off site(v) Travelling to/from site(vi) Carry out full heat cycle repair including rolling and compaction to satisfactory completion5. Programme of WorksA schedule of works will be provided by Clackmannanshire Council's Road Officer identifying the location and extent of each defect to be treated. From this, the nominated Contractor must provide a programme of works illustrating the planned timescale for the execution of the works.The Contractor's programme must be submitted 7 days prior to the works being undertaken to allow the Employer to complete the register for roadworks (Symology).
