Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, which is seeking to lease three 7.5-ton Long Wheel Base box-type vans for its Pharmacy Distribution Centre located in Paisley, UK. This initiative falls under the health sector and employs an open procurement method aimed at delivering pharmaceutical products to various NHSGG&C sites. The tender was originally active with a submission deadline on 29 March 2018. It emphasises quality and cost as key criteria for selection, with an estimated contract value of £180,000.

This tender presents a substantial opportunity for businesses specialising in vehicle leasing and transportation services, particularly those with experience in managing logistics for sensitive pharmaceutical products. Companies engaged in transportation that can meet strict regulatory requirements and provide temperature-controlled vehicles would be particularly well-suited to compete. Given the focus on quality and technical capability, firms with relevant certifications and a track record in similar contracts are encouraged to participate.
