Notice Description
Historic Environment Scotland has a requirement for branded and non-branded Corporate Clothing, Waterproof Clothing and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Lot Information
Waterproof Clothing
Lot 1 - Waterproof Clothing - Require waterproof clothing suitable for a full week of outdoor fieldwork in all weathers, and in a variety of locations that can include remote upland locations where staff can be exposed to the full range of winter and summer conditions. Staff can be walking long distances, either carrying surveying kit and/or undertaking survey or they can be standing still for long periods of time whilst carrying out survey work. From a Health & Safety aspect their garments should be a bright colour for visibility.
Renewal: Initial period of 24 months, option to extend for a further 48 months.
Corporate ClothingApproximately 450 permanent staff that have an annual allocation of uniform issued in March/April each year. There are five different uniform types for visitor facing staff - Edinburgh Castle, Stirling Castle, formal dress for Landward sites and casual dress for Landward sites and the Ranger Service. Edinburgh Castle, Stirling Castle and Landward sites have their own respective tartans. Kilt uniforms are not required as part of this contract, however tartan waistcoats and trousers are required. There are approximately 150 seasonal staff that may change from year to year, this means we also have a lot of uniforms which are only worn for a short time and still have life in them at the end of the season and thus will need refurbishing after the season to be re-issued out to new staff.

Personal Protective EquipmentLot 3 will be reserved for a Supported Business. Approximately 250 members of staff who require clothing and personal protective equipment (PPE). The staff work on the historic buildings renovating and preserving the historic buildings and monuments. 8.3 A supported business' primary aim is the social and professional integration of disabled or disadvantaged persons where at least 30% of the employees of those businesses should be disabled or disadvantaged. EU Directive 2014/24/EU, recital 36: 'The unemployed, members of disadvantaged minorities, or otherwise socially marginalised groups.'
