Phase Four Station Improvements

STRATHCLYDE PARTNERSHIP FOR TRANSPORT (UTILITIES)

This public procurement record has 2 releases in its history.

Summary of the contracting process

The Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) has successfully completed the procurement process for the "Phase Four Station Improvements" project, which involved the refurbishment of four subway stations in Glasgow: St Georges Cross, Cowcaddens, West Street, and Kinning Park. The project was categorised under urban railway services with a contract award made on 11th October 2018. The procurement method used was selective, following a restricted procedure, where bidders had the opportunity to submit tenders for one or both of two defined lots. The associated contracts are currently active and fall under the main procurement category of works.

This tender offers significant growth opportunities for construction firms, particularly those specialising in infrastructure improvement and refurbishment services. Suppliers with experience in working within live rail environments, particularly in mechanical and electrical installations or public transport infrastructure upgrades, would find this project particularly relevant. With a total estimated contract value of £7 million, businesses that meet the minimum turnover requirements and can demonstrate the capacity to manage large-scale construction projects will be well-positioned to compete for similar future contracts in the region.
