2018 Social Care - Early Year's Services: Support for Families
Notice Description
Aberdeenshire Council requires the provision of the following Aberdeenshire-wide service to help meet the Aberdeenshire Children's Services Plan 2017-2020. The Service will be for 0 - 5 year olds The service aims to: Promote the health and well-being of families and develop resilience; Support parents/Cares facing problems such as illness, family breakdown, bereavement, isolation etc to be able to cope effectively and to prevent crisis; Signpost parents/carers to other services where need is identified; Promote positive parenting, for example engage parents in parenting programmes as reflected within the Aberdeenshire Parenting Strategy; Provide needs led family learning opportunities, for example, through group work; Support families to develop strategies for income maximisation.

Lot 1
The service has the following elements: Referrals will come directly from service users, early year's settings, early year's team and other professionals and agencies; Where appropriate, a consent form will be completed together with parent/carer to enable multi-agency information sharing; Service Provider will work in partnership with the Early Years Team to share any concerns and family need(s). The purpose of the service is to provide advice and practical help in order to prevent family crisis and breakdown. Getting it right for every child (GIRFEC) Building the Ambition Pre- Birth to Three Health and Social Care Standards Children and Young People's Act (Scotland) Scottish Government "The Early Years Framework" Supporting children's learning code of practice 2010 Aberdeenshire Children's Services Plan 2017 - 2020. Duration is for three years with a view to extend for an additional two one-year periods.
