Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is conducting a procurement process for managed transport services, titled "Managed Transport Services". This initiative falls under the health industry category and is located in Glasgow, UK. Currently in the tender stage, this procurement is slated to end on 22 October 2018, with an estimated budget of £4,400,000. The process employs a selective procurement method, specifically through a restricted procedure, while the expected annual requirement forecasts approximately 112,800 journeys across various lots covering areas such as Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire, South Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire, and Inverclyde.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in transport services, particularly those equipped to handle the logistical complexities of healthcare transport. Firms with capabilities in efficient routing, punctual delivery, and experience in managing sensitive transport needs may find this contract particularly advantageous. Additionally, providers must navigate enhanced criteria aimed at mitigating risks associated with serious and organised crime, suggesting that only pre-vetted and compliant operators will be able to compete effectively. Services provided could contribute significantly to the operational success of NHS GG&C by ensuring timely and economical transportation of passengers and urgent packages.
