Notice Description
The work comprises the provision of the following new works:- Repairs and upgrading to existing entrance canopy and surrounding area including roof drainage; repair and overhaul to existing main roof area including identified recommended repairs to steelwork; overhaul and repair to main roof panels with power wash; overcladding system ground floor to roof; replacement windows to all flats and communal areas; conversion of roof access window to door; steel roof access ladders; internal roof drainage; new sprinkler installation covering all areas; upgrading existing ventilation systems; ground floor external lighting; internal roof space lighting; full internal redecoration of communal areas throughout the tower; wall tiling to lift lobby at ground floor level. Removal of redundant works and integration of new works within existing building structure, fabric and systems.

Lot 1 Blairgrove & Merryston : The work comprises the provision of the following new works:- Repairs and upgrading to existing entrance canopy and surrounding area including roof drainage; repair and overhaul to existing main roof area including identified recommended repairs to steelwork; overhaul and repair to main roof panels with power wash; overcladding system ground floor to roof; replacement windows to all flats and communal areas; conversion of roof access window to door; steel roof access ladders; internal roof drainage; new sprinkler installation covering all areas; upgrading existing ventilation systems; ground floor external lighting; internal roof space lighting; full internal redecoration of communal areas throughout the tower; wall tiling to lift lobby at ground floor level. Removal of redundant works and integration of new works within existing building structure, fabric and systems.. The contract duration for Lot 1 is 52 calendar weeks and the contract duration for Lot 2 is 40 calendar weeks, therefore should the most economically advantageous tender for both Lots be that of the same Contractor, the contract duration to complete both Lots would be 52 weeks (i.e. works to be both Lots to be carried out concurrently).

Failure to fully complete all questions may result in submission being deemed non-compliant. A summary of the expected community benefits has been provided as follows: North Lanarkshire Council has, as part of its procurement strategy, made a commitment, where appropriate, to use its procurement of works, goods and services responsibly and to help it achieve its stated corporate aims, in particular in furtherance of its \"wellbeing\" powers under the Local Government in Scotland Act 2003. The Council has also developed a specific policy on Community Benefits in Procurement under which is will consider whether social considerations/community benefits can be included, where it is making capital investments or services/goods are being purchased. The Council's policy was adopted on 9th September 2010. The Council's policy, in particular, is to consider measures to encourage: The targeted recruitment and training of the long-term unemployed and those furthest from the job market. Awareness of opportunities and scope for involvement of small to medium (SME) sized business and social enterprises. Measures to provide employment and training opportunities. Measures to provide educational benefits to communities. Measures to enhance engagement with/opportunities for community organisations and/or SMEs. Other measures providing community benefits. Please note that the contract duration for Lot 1 is 52 calendar weeks and the contract duration for Lot 2 is 40 calendar weeks, therefore should the most economically advantageous tender for both Lots be that of the same Contractor, the contract duration to complete both Lots would be 52 weeks (i.e. works to be both Lots to be carried out concurrently). The following documents form part of the tender package but are not included with the package at this time, however, they will be uploaded within 10 working days of Notice publication: - Fire Stopping Surveys to all Towers - External Roof Survey and Fall Arrest Survey to all Towers - Ground Floor Condition Survey to all Towers - L20 Steel Doors Specification to Blairgrove and Merryston Towers only - Appendix A - KPI's - Appendix O - Data Protection Information Asbestos Surveys for Both Lots - files too large to attach to Notice. Further information on how to access these will be given in due course. Contractors should arrange all pre contract site visits via e-mail to Peter Denmark (Service Delivery Manager) to: DenmarkP@northlan.gov.uk. Contractors should not turn up at site without prior appointment.
