Innerleithen, Walkerburn, Earlston and Saint Boswells houses have Hard To Treat Cavities (HTTC), which the external wall cavities are inadequate in terms of energy efficiency. The work involves installing high performance cavity wall insulation and as required attic and ground floor insulation.

To improve the properties energy efficiency, it is proposed to install a high performance insulation rendering system to the external walls.. Scottish Borders Council is awarding this business after conducting a Mini Competition from the Scotland Excel framework. The contractors invited to tender were selected from Scotland Excel's, Framework 09-13 Energy Efficiency Contractors, Sublot 2.1 External Wall Insulation.
