Summary of the contracting process

Angus Council is managing the "Housing Response and Void Repairs Term Contract 2020-2023," which is aimed at delivering 24-hour response repairs to council dwellings across Angus. This project is currently in the award stage and was initiated as a tender process, following a planned procurement notice issued in late 2018. Key activities involve responding to repair requests from tenants throughout the year, and compliance with the Housing (Scotland) Act 2001 is required for contractors. The contract has an estimated value of £19,977,000 for a five-year period, and the deadline for submissions was on 27 September 2019.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses involved in property maintenance, especially those specialising in housing repairs and building services. Companies that can provide a 24-hour call-handling service and coordinate multi-trade repairs will be particularly well-suited to compete. The requirement for operating under the Right to Repair Scheme also presents an avenue for firms experienced in delivering community-oriented housing services. Additionally, businesses should be prepared for a possible collaboration with other contractors, given the nature of joint responsibilities outlined in the tender.
