Summary of the contracting process

Scottish Water, based in Stepps, Glasgow, is conducting a tender for "The Supply and Delivery of Chemicals", aimed at establishing a long-term framework for supplying key chemicals throughout Scotland. This initiative falls under the goods category within the water and waste industry sectors. The procurement method is selective, employing a negotiated procedure with prior call for competition. The tender is in its active stage, with submissions due by 18th October 2018, and an estimated total value of £30 million over an eight-year period, including renewal options.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in chemical supply, particularly those with the capability to deliver products such as ammonium sulphate, caustic soda, and hydrochloric acid. Companies prepared to engage in a collaborative supply chain approach, and those with expertise in health and safety support, will find competitive advantages. With the potential for contract extensions based on performance, this framework offers a lucrative avenue for businesses seeking to grow within the public sector market.
