Notice Description

The University requires the supply, installation and maintenance of a 3D Immersive Reality Facility. This Immersive Facility will be located within the University's new flagship Discovery & Innovation Building, which is set to open March 2019.

Lot Information

Lot 1

This Immersive Reality Facility is required to support the University's research activities and enable staff, students and industry partners create ground-breaking technologies and solutions using digital tools. The required solution must include the following components: - Software; - Hardware; - Projector/Screen; - Main PC and 2 Offline Development PCs; - Illuminated Keyboard - Head Mounted Displays - Tracking system - Six Degrees of Freedom (6-DOF); - Control System; - Sound System; and - 3D Glasses. The University has a budget of 400K GBP for this Immersive Facility, which is inclusive VAT. Within this budget, the University requires the supply, installation, training and 1 year warranty, plus the option to extend the warranty annually for a further 2 years. The ultimate solution must be able to be implemented on all of the University's UK and Global campus locations and include common software platform and integration between all the University's campus locations. Please note that the supply of hardware and software for the other Campus locations is not required as part of the initial requirement or budget, however there may be a future requirement which the Successful Contractor should be capable of delivering. The University is seeking a multi-stranded, collaborative and strategic relationship with the Successful Contractor.. Economic operators may be excluded from this competition if they are in any of the situations referred to in regulation 58 of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015.

Options: The University reserves the right to extend the supply agreement to its global campuses subject to satisfactory performance and continuation of the Universitys requirements. Please note that the other campus locations is not required as part of the initial requirement and budget however there may be a future requirement which the Successful Contractor should be capable of delivering.

Renewal: The University would also like the option to extend the warranty on an annual basis for additional years, following the initial warranty period. The University may extend the supply agreement to its global campuses subject to satisfactory performance and continuation of the Universitys requirements. The other Campus locations is not required as part of the initial requirement and budget.
