Notice Description

The Authority seeks to establish a Framework Agreement with a number of suppliers for the supply of labour, vehicles and plant as per the specification to assist in the delivery of the Winter Service based at Fushiebridge Depot, Gorebridge. The contract will be split into lots and bidders are invited to apply for one or more lots. The lots available are: Lot 1 - Hand Clearing (including Transport and Equipment), Lot 2 - Bulk Gritters (inclusive of Driver), Lot 3 - Operated Plant, Lot 4 - HGV Drivers, Lot 5 - Plant and Vehicles - hired.

Lot Information

Bulk Gritters - including driver

The supply of bulk gritters inclusive of driver to support the Authority's own in house resources at times when demand is in excess of the available resources.

Renewal: An option to extend by a twelve month period is available to the Authority.

Operated Plant

The supply of operated plant and vehicles for deployment in winter maintenance activities in support of the Authority's own internal resources.

Options: Within this Lot, any relevant vehicles and plant that has not been specified in the tender documentation but which may be useful in winter maintenance activities may be offered.

Renewal: An additional twelve month extension period available to the Authority

HGV Drivers

Required to operate winter maintenance vehicles including gritters with front-mounted scrapers.

Renewal: A twelve month extension option is available to the Authority.

Plant and Vehicles

The supply of appropriate vehicles and plant for use by the Authority in its winter maintenance activities.

Options: The Tenderer may submit details of additional plant and equipment not listed in the tender documents that may be useful for various winter maintenance activities.

Renewal: A twelve month extension period available to the Authority.

Hand Clearing - including transport and equipment

For use to support with hand clearing of snow and hand gritting in areas where it is not appropriate for vehicle access. The labour resource will be the provision of 3 and 2 person crews. The number of crews required will vary dependent upon demand and weather conditions. The transport requirements are for pick-ups and / or vans with trailers capable of taking up to 1 tonne salt / grit for clearing snow from footways or spread salt as instructed by MCRS. The Authority also has a requirement for additional labour crews to be provided with a mini-excavator to support snow and ice clearing activities.

Renewal: A 12 month period of extension is available to the Authority
