Notice Description

In order to support the efficient and effective conduct of the Fatal Accident Inquiry into the deaths of Gary Arthur and Others, the Contracting Authority requires the provision of software and personnel to allow for the Sheriff Principal and Core Participant's legal representatives (as required) to benefit from access to real-time transcripts of evidence on screens within the facilities set aside for the Fatal Accident Inquiry, and to provide a fully edited transcription of each day's proceedings to form part of a permanent record of the Inquiry.

On 24th November 2017, Crown Counsel instructed the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service to hold a Fatal Accident Inquiry ("FAI") be held into the deaths of Gary Arthur and Others who lost their lives when a Police Scotland helicopter crashed onto the busy Clutha bar in Glasgow on 29 November 2013. The FAI will commence on 8th April 2019 at 10am and will take place at Hampden Park, Letherby Drive, Glasgow, G42 9BA. In order to support the efficient and effective conduct of the FAI, the Contracting Authority requires the provision of software and personnel to allow for the Sheriff Principal and Core Participant's legal representatives (as required) to benefit from access to real-time transcripts of evidence on screens within the facilities set aside for the FAI, and to provide a fully edited transcription of each day's proceedings to form part of a permanent record of the inquiry.

Renewal: Whilst the estimate of 130 sitting days for the Fatal Accident Inquiry is a robust estimate, an extension of the original contract duration may be offered if it is required to ensure that all the evidence is presented and witnesses heard.
