Summary of the contracting process

Scottish Water has issued a tender titled "The Supply and Installation of Photovoltaic Equipment and Energy Storage Systems" as part of its procurement process. This initiative falls under the goods category and is aimed at contractors who can deliver a complete project, including design, development, and installation of solar systems that can support onsite energy use or contribute to the grid. The procurement method is a selective negotiated procedure following a prior call for competition, and the initial contract period was set from 1 June 2019 to 31 March 2021, with potential extensions lasting until 2026. The procurement is focused on projects across Pan Scotland, with the tender officially filed in Glasgow.

This opportunity presents significant potential for companies specialising in renewable energy, particularly those experienced in solar photovoltaic installations and energy storage solutions. Suppliers who can demonstrate a turnkey approach to project delivery, alongside compliance with Scottish Water’s procurement criteria, will be in a strong position to bid. This is an ideal contract for businesses looking to expand their portfolio in the sustainable energy sector, especially given the increasing demand for energy-efficient solutions in public infrastructure.
