Notice Title
Contract Hire of Ride On Mowers
Notice Description
Stirling Council is seeking to procure a single suitably qualified Supplier to provide a Contract Hire and Maintenance Service for Ride-on Mowers. Stirling Councils Operations Service delivers the grass cutting operations on a seasonal basis throughout the Stirling Council area, from communities in the north such as Tyndrum and Crainlarich to Stathblane in the west and the villages of Throsk and Plean to the east of the Council area. In order to deliver this service, Operations require the provision of seven ride-on mowers for the grass cutting season between approximately mid-March and the end of October each year.
Lot Information
Lot 1
The seasonal operational period of the contract will be over a minimum period of 27 (twenty seven) weeks and a maximum of 33 (thirty three) weeks commencing in approximately mid-March 2019 for two seasons until October 2020 with a potential option for a 3rd season and a potential option for a 4th season. The possible options on a 3rd year and 4th year will only be applied should it prove viable on evaluation of the bids and subject to contract performance during the 2 year term. The minimum number of ride-on mowers required will be 5 (five) up to a maximum number of 7 (seven) over this same period of time. This is primarily due to the uncertainty of the future delivery of the grass cutting service and there may be a need reduce the grass area we currently maintain (thereby reducing the need for seven machines) and/or the number of grass cutting cycles is reduced thereby reducing the length of the grass cutting season. The proposed mix of mowers in 2019 is intended to be 5 x rotary / 2 x zero-turn with a 31 week hire period. This will be confirmed at contract award. The mix of mowers may vary from year to year with a maximum of 4 zero-turns required. Your quotation should be based on the contract hire and maintenance of 7 (seven) ride-on mowers as per the attached specification for a period of time of 31 (thirty one) weeks commencing approximately in mid or late March 2019. Cost should also include for all scheduled regular maintenance throughout the grass cutting season and for the delivery and uplift of machines at the start and end of each season. However you should be aware of the possibility that this could be reduced up to the minimum levels above, during the contract period at the start of the 3rd year or 4th optional year if taken up.
Renewal: Two 12 month extension options for possible contract duration of 48 months.
