Police Scotland does not intend to limit the performance of this service to any particular profession and Police Scotland is open to considering any alternative service delivery models that the market may bring forward. However, a number of key principals will underpin the service requirements including commitment to Police Scotland's Code of Ethics and core values in dealing with the deceased and bereaved; contributing to the efficient use of police and other agencies time, contributing to the successful investigation of death by the police when the circumstances require it and ensuring adequate capacity and geographical coverage arrangements are made.
