Notice Description

Tenancy Sustainment and Welfare Rights & Budgeting services will become increasingly important to AHA in the coming years, as the full effects of Welfare Benefit Reform (and especially Universal Credit), impact existing and future tenants. High quality support and advice via these two services should help our customers with budgeting, debt management, income maximisation, household tasks, safety and security, and accessing employment opportunities. This will help our tenants meet their own aspirations while helping the Association meet its own financial obligations.

Lot Information

Welfare Rights and Budgeting service

The requirements of the services are to: 1.1 Provide one to one advice and case work services for Almond HA tenants with specific focus on welfare benefits and income maximisation aimed at assisting them to manage their finances and sustain their tenancies. 1.2 Work in collaboration with the Housing Support Manager, Tenancy Sustainment Officer and any external agencies such as Department of Work and Pensions and West Lothian Council; referring tenants where necessary to ensure they receive specialist support needed to address their needs and overcome the challenges they are facing in maintaining their tenancy.

Renewal: Renewable on an annual basis, at the sole discretion of AHA, subject to satisfactory review, and up to a maximum of two extensions.

Tenancy Sustainment Services

The successful service provider will be required to: 1.1 Provide one to one advice and support to assist Almond HA tenants to sustain their tenancies. The postholder will provide a tailored service to tenants at risk of tenancy failure and financial hardship; making best use of referral systems to ensure joint working with internal and external support services. 1.2 Support people who are struggling to sustain their tenancy by helping them to understand their roles and responsibilities as a tenant; how to sustain a tenancy and to encourage and facilitate their independence, quality of life, health and well-being. 1.3 Work in collaboration with the Housing Support Manager, Welfare Benefits and Budgeting Advisor and any external advice agencies such as Furniture Initiatives, Trust and Grant Awarding Bodies; referring tenants where necessary to ensure they receive specialist support needed to address their needs and overcome the challenges they are facing in maintaining their tenancy.
