Lot 1

The Cottrell Central Courtyard Redevelopment Project comprises construction of a covered pavilion within the existing Central Courtyard of the University's Cottrell Building. The project will be procured via a "two-stage design and build" procurement with the design team being novated to the principal contractor at the end of the second procurement stage. In conjunction with the Employer's Agent, the successful Stage One contractor will take a lead role in managing the RIBA Stage4 Design Process and subsequent work package procurement activities, advise on issues of practicality, buildability, co-ordination and efficiency. The contractor must become an active member of the professional team and be integral to the design process, timing and overall successful project delivery. While it is intended that the Stage One contractor will be appointed as the Stage Two contractor, the Employer will not be bound to employ the contractor under the Stage Two Main Contract and will have the right to use the work and information provided by the Stage One contractor under the Pre-Construction Services Agreement to procure the Stage Two contractor under a separate procurement process.
