River Clyde Homes is a 'not for profit' affordable housing provider that owns and manages over 5,800 homes and provides factoring services to a further 2,200 homes in the Inverclyde area. We hold the Investors in People Gold standard, and employ over 250 members of staff, including 58 specialist trades operatives. River Clyde Homes are seeking to employ a suitably experienced and competent company to supply and uplift skips and dispose of the waste from our works depot based at Springkell Street, Greenock. The skips must allow RCH to store waste securely until they are uplifted. Details of the skips required are contained within the pricing schedule. There is also a requirement for the rental and regular uplift of 3 large recycling bins. Two bins are required at our Springkell Street depot, and one at our Head Office at Roxburgh House, Greenock. Currently these bins consist of 3, 1100 litre eurocarts. A weekly uplift is required at the Roxburgh House site and a fortnightly uplift from the Springkell Street site. River Clyde Homes' aim each year is to increase its recyclable waste and reduce its disposal costs accordingly. The successful bidder will be required to support River Clyde Homes in achieving this goal.. The contract value specified within this contract award notice is the anticipated spend across the lifecycle of the contract. Due to the reactive nature of the works tendered for, it is not possible for RCH to stipulate the exact value which may be generated from this contract.

Renewal: The contract will run for an initial 2 year duration. RCH may wish to extend any resultant agreement for up to a further 2, 12 month periods, subject to the agreement of the successful bidder.

ESPD 4D.2 Bidders must be able to produce certificates drawn up by independent bodies attesting that the bidder holds a UKAS (or equivalent) accredited independent third party certificate of compliance with BS EN ISO 14001 (or equivalent) or a valid EMAS (or equivalent) certificate, or a regularly reviewed documented policy regarding environmental management, authorised by the Chief Executive, or equivalent. This policy must include and describe the bidder's environmental emergency response procedures, including the preparedness and response procedures for potential accidents and emergency response situations that give rise to significant environmental impacts (for example hazardous substances spill control). And The bidder will require to be able to produce a current Waste Carriers License. Their SEPA registration number should be provided within the ESPD."
