Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership has identified the need for a specialist support service for between four and six individuals with acquired brain injuries (ABI).

Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership has identified the need for a specialist support service for between four and six individuals with acquired brain injuries (ABI). The purpose of this Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to engage with suppliers to inform the decisions regarding the development of this service and for the purpose of market research only at this stage. This is not a call for competition. Suitable accommodation is currently being sought within Aberdeen City and it is anticipated that this will be within a group living situation. Residential care and supported living models are both under consideration at this stage. The specialist support service will be provided to an identified group of male individuals with acquired brain injuries, including alcohol related brain injury and HIV related dementia. These individuals have a varying levels of cognitive functioning and a range of physical and mental health conditions. Support provided will include personal care, support with all aspects of household management and social activities and motivation to engage with support and health services. Several of these individuals can display behaviours that challenge, including sexually inappropriate behaviours/history of sexual offences. Providers must also have experience of working within CTO and MAPPA guidelines. Detailed pen pictures of the individuals to be supported will be provided at the time of tender. In addition to a record of interest being submitted suppliers are requested to submit a brief report that demonstrates: - Provider suitability to deliver specialist services to adults with acquired brain injury - Known examples of similar service provision including innovative developments. Reports should be submitted by email to Catherine King at catking@aberdeencity.gov.uk. Notes of interest and reports should be submitted by 12 noon on Friday 10 May 2019.
