Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves the West Lothian Council, which is seeking suppliers for the "Award of CC9497 Provision of Food Waste, Garden Waste and Co-mingled Food and Garden Waste Treatment". This tender falls under the services industry category and is based in West Lothian, Scotland. The procurement stage is currently at the Award phase, with the initial contract being signed on 1st July 2019 and set to terminate on 31st March 2023, with an option for a three-year extension. Interested suppliers within the Scotland Excel Framework for Treatment of Organic Waste are invited to participate in this mini competition and must possess the relevant licencing and certification to qualify.

This tender presents significant business opportunities, particularly for companies specialising in waste management and treatment services. Businesses that can provide services related to the handling and processing of food waste and green waste are well-suited to compete for this contract. The ability to submit bids for individual lots—such as food waste, garden waste, or co-mingled collections—further expands the potential for participation, making this an attractive opportunity for both small and large scale suppliers looking to grow their market presence in the waste management sector.
