Notice Description

Zero Waste Scotland wishes to appoint a Contractor/s for the provision of specialist resource efficiency advice and support to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) operating within Scotland's construction sector for the following construction-related services: Circular Design; Sustainable Procurement; Site Waste Management Planning; and BIM and other digital technology.

Lot Information

Circular Design

The provision of specialist support to engage with and influence recipient SMEs predominantly (but not exclusively) at planning, brief development and design stages, to help them understand the environmental and whole life cost benefits of incorporating Circular Economy design principles into their construction project. Further information for Lot 1 - Circular Design is provided in the tender document.. Economic operators may be excluded from this competition if they are in any of the situations referred to in regulation 58 of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015.

Renewal: The agreement may be extended by up to a further two (2) 12-month periods.

Sustainable Procurement

The provision of specialist support to engage with and influence quantity surveyors, buyers and contract managers with responsibility for or involvement with procurement for recipient SME construction project supply chains, to incorporate sustainable procurement practices and opportunities more effectively. The provision of a 'one stop shop' service that would facilitate a single co-ordinated response to requests for multiple support requirements from a single recipient SME that could not otherwise be delivered by any one of the other Lots alone. The provision of specialist support to engage with and influence recipient SMEs on the benefits of using Building Information Modelling (BIM) and other digital technologies used or applicable to any stage of a construction project, to achieve savings on money, time, carbon and material use, and to reduce waste over the whole life of a building.
