Notice Description

Fife Council's Occupational Therapy Service is committed to enabling elderly and disabled people of all ages to remain in their own homes and lead as independent and inclusive a lifestyle as possible. Part of this strategy involves the provision, maintenance and servicing (including existing stock), removal and relocation of straight stair lifts, curved stair lifts, through floor lifts, external step/platform lifts and ceiling tracking hoists (fixed and room cover) to Council tenants and owner/occupiers who have been assessed by Social Work Services as qualifying for the installation of a suitable appliance. Fife Council's Property Service and/or Building Services will arrange for the installation of straight stair lifts, through floor lifts, external step/platform lifts and ceiling tracking hoists to non-domestic properties as part of new builds, refurbishment or one-off projects. The requirement will be for the supply and installation only.

Loler Certification

The Service Provider shall undertake; (a) an appropriate thorough examination and inspection of every completed lift system and of each and every lifting accessory when they are put into service for the first time, and thereafter at the appropriate intervals (b) provide an appropriate certificate and (c) promptly report any fault or defect to Fife Council and the service user. All in accordance with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) 1998.
