Shared Lives is a model of care and support that provides innovative, small family-based support to adults with a variety of support needs. The Provider must ensure they are capable and confident of providing the full range of services detailed in the Specification. The Service required is the provision of a Shared Lives Scheme eligible for adults aged 16 + to end of life. The Specification will described the Shared Lives Scheme, the Service to be provided, how the Service would be delivered, monitoring arrangements, service level outcomes, key performance indicators and the role of the Council in generating referrals and supporting the delivery of outcomes. The Provider will not itself directly provide the care, support and accommodation to Supported Persons. The Provider will recruit and approve Shared Lives Carers on a self-employed basis and will manage and ensure the proper delivery of a high quality Service by the appointed Shared Lives Carers. The Responsibilities of the Provider will include the appointment of a Service Manager and suitable co-ordinators and administration support. The Council were seeking innovative approaches from the Provider in the delivery and promotion of the Service and the Specification described the minimum standards of quality required.. Award of Contract - The contract is for a period of 5 years with an option to extend for a further 24 months. It is considered that this service is covered by the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014 under the "Light Touch Regime".
