Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process is led by The Common Services Agency, also known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), for the tender titled "NP654/19 Audiological Batteries." This procurement falls under the health industry category, taking place in Edinburgh, UK. The current stage of the procurement is active, with a tender period ending on 2nd December 2019 and an award period starting on the same date. The procurement method is open, allowing broad participation, with a total estimated contract value of £3,255,000 for a framework agreement that could last for up to three years, with two optional extensions of twelve months each.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those in the health and medical supplies sector, as it involves the supply of Hearing Aid and cochlear implant batteries for NHS Scotland. Companies that already possess certifications such as ISO9001 and ISO14001, and can demonstrate compliance with specific healthcare standards and regulations are strongly encouraged to participate. Given that only a limited number of suppliers can secure the contract, large established firms as well as agile small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that can meet the stringent requirements may find this an appealing venture for growth and collaboration with the NHS.
