SLC/PS/SW/19/003 - Adult Carers and Young Carers Support Service
Notice Description
Provision of Adult Carers and Young Carers Support Services. This is an Open Tender with 2 Lots with one supplier being awarded per Lot. There is a maximum budget for both Lots and this is detailed in the tender documentation. For clarity, the definition of Young Carers and Adult Carers, is as per the Carers Act Scotland 2016. A young carer is defined as; (a) under 18 years old, or (b) has attained the age of 18 years while a pupil at school, and has since attaining that age remained a pupil at that or another school. . An adult carer is defined as a carer who is at least 18 years old but is not a young carer.
Lot Information
Adult Carers Support Service
The Council are looking to purchase a Service that will support and work with Adult Carers residing in South Lanarkshire to offer holistic, personalised support through an outcomes approach by offering a range of direct and indirect support. The Service will deliver engagement and empowerment activities, information and representation services. It will offer training, short breaks information and advice and Adult Carer Support Plans. The Service will deliver a full spectrum of preventative approaches and supports to enable Adult Carers to achieve their outcomes, have a life alongside caring, ensure their rights are met and maintain their own health and wellbeing.
Renewal: Initial contract duration is 3 years (1 April 2020 to 31 March 2023) with the option at the Council's sole discretion of up to two periods of extension, the first period for up to two years (to 31 March 2025) and a further period of up to one year (to 31 March 2026), a maximum extension of up to three years in total.
Young Carers Support ServiceThe Council are looking to purchase a Service that will support and work with Young Carers residing in South Lanarkshire to offer holistic, personalised support based on assessed need, risk and personal outcomes, to promote choice, control and independence for Young Carers by offering a range of direct and indirect support. The Service will deliver engagement and empowerment activities, information and representation services and connect Young Carers to their communities. It will offer a range of support including one to one, group work, and short breaks and in school support. It will offer training, information and advice, and Young Carer Statements. The Service will deliver a full spectrum of preventative approaches and supports to enable Young Carers to achieve their outcomes, have a life similar to that of other young people, ensure their rights are met and to stay healthy, safe, nurtured, included, active, achieving and responsible.
