Scottish Borders Council is seeking a single supplier to provide Moving and Handling of People training for SBCares, its social care service over a 3 year period from 1st April 2020. The requirement is for the delivery of Moving and Handling of People training for SBCares staff throughout the Scottish Borders Local Authority area by suitably qualified Moving and Handling of People Instructors. Interested Suppliers must be able to deliver the training in the Scottish Borders and also must having their own training room complete with a Bed and Hoist equipment.

Scottish Borders Council is seeking a single supplier to provide Moving and Handling of People training for SBCares, its social care service. The requirement is for the delivery of Moving and Handling of People training for SBCares staff throughout the Scottish Borders Local Authority area by suitably qualified Moving and Handling of People Instructors. The successful supplier should teach the Moving and Handling of People, in accordance with the following: - Requirements of the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992, as amended and the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998(as amended) (LOLER) - To be delivered in SBCares premises in various locations throughout the Borders; - Training should include specific service issues e.g. bariatric support; - The supplier must provide course materials/handouts to support the course, - Training should support and develop co-ordinator role to allow them to monitor compliance, carry out risk assessments and provide advice (see separate attachment for co-ordinator role based around information provided in SBC Moving and Handling of Persons Policy) - Ongoing professional advisory support for SBCares staff; - Both full initial training and refresher courses are required. Suppliers must be able to deliver the training in the Scottish Borders at SBCares locations and have access to their own training room in the Borders to deliver training. The training suite should be complete with beds and hoist equipment.
