The universal service should be accessible to children and young people in primary, secondary and ASN schools aged 10 and over and will be predominantly delivered in a school setting. This will cover the last two years of primary and all of secondary education. It is expected that the provider will be flexible and responsive to local need as appropriate.

Renfrewshire Children's Services is seeking a dynamic provider to deliver counselling and preventative programmes to improve the mental health and well-being and emotional resilience of children and young people who are negatively affected or are at risk of being affected by poor mental health. This programme will complement the work of its own staff and many partners. The universal service should be accessible to children and young people in primary, secondary and ASN schools aged 10 and over and will be predominantly delivered in a school setting. This will cover the last two years of primary and all of secondary education. It is expected that the provider will be flexible and responsive to local need as appropriate. It is expected that flexible, culturally appropriate and inequalities-sensitive approaches will be used and that the interested organisations will demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of the pattern of inequalities in Renfrewshire and of the barriers in working in communities with high levels of deprivation. The service will operate an open referrals process, whereby an individual can refer themselves into the service, as well as accepting referrals from other services, organisations or individuals.
