Summary of the contracting process

Inverclyde Council is seeking a provider for the "Service for the Provision of a School Age Counselling Service" aimed at improving the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children and young people aged 5 to 18. This procurement process is currently in the award stage, having been initiated as an open tender. The contract will predominantly take place in the Greenock area, specifically within the local schools and community settings. Key dates include the contract signing date on 14th July 2020, and the active period for the service provision extends for three years following the contract start in August 2020.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses that specialise in mental health services, counselling, or child and youth support. Companies that can demonstrate experience in delivering similar counselling services, particularly within educational settings, would be well-positioned to compete. Additionally, large organisations that hold relevant accreditations and can comply with the stipulated insurance requirements will find this tender particularly appealing, especially in the context of a growing focus on mental health services due to the increased challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic.
