Summary of the contracting process

North Lanarkshire Council is establishing a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for the transport of school pupils with Additional Support Needs (ASN). The procurement process is currently in the Planning stage, with key dates including an extended application deadline of 19 June 2020 and an invitation to tender scheduled for 1 July 2020. This initiative is classified under the services industry category, and all contracts will be restricted to suppliers operating within the North Lanarkshire area. Interested parties are required to apply through the PCS-Tender system, completing the necessary application and documentation requirements.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialised in transport services, particularly those with experience in catering to the needs of vulnerable individuals. Companies that operate licensed, insured vehicles, and can provide appropriately trained drivers and escorts will be well-suited to compete. The dynamic nature of the DPS allows successful bidders to receive future invitations for individual contracts, ensuring a continuous flow of work for qualified providers over the contract period until December 2027.
