Notice Description
NWTC Board are looking for expressions of interest from architects/ interior designers to redesign the existing guest bedroom in the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel to minimise the risk of Covid-19 infection and create a bio-secure environment.
Lot Information
Lot 1
NWTC Board are looking for expressions of interest from an architect or interior designer to redesign the existing Hotel Guest Bedroom and en suite Bathroom. The four star Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel(formerly The Beardmore)was built in 1994. The Hotel has been undertaking an upgrade and refurbishment programme of its guest bedrooms. To date 55/168 guest bedrooms have been remodelled. The remaining 113 bedrooms are in the original 1994 design and condition. Due to the impact of Covid-19, the Hotel wants to redesign the guest bedroom to minimise the risk of Covid-19 infection. Biosecurity is high on the priority list for all our clients. The Hotel envisages this as a major reassurance and selling point in the future with all client groups including conference delegates, corporate guests and in particular patients pre-surgery. The redesigned Guest Bedroom should meet the following objectives -Enable a high level of cleaning and sanitising on a daily basis without increasing Housekeeping time. Enabling deep cleaning and disinfecting in the event of a guest having tested positive for Covid-19. -Provide visible reassurance to all guests that the Hotel is minimising the risk of Covid-19 or similar. This is likely to include the reduction of touch points throughout the bedroom and en-suite. -Meet DDA requirements for guests including the option to have a DDA shower/ wet room design which will be implemented in several en-suite bathrooms. In the event of a future wave of Covid-19 or another clinical emergency, the rooms should be adaptable for the potential requirement of nursing 'step-down' patients with low clinical needs. -The design should meet AA 4star criteria and be visually representative of a four-star hotel and conference centre of excellence. The Hotel is looking for an innovative and modern design to delight guests, keep a pace with competitors including chain and boutique hotels whilst meeting the biosecurity criteria.
