The works comprise replacement of existing door entry systems complete with renewal of existing glazed security entrance screens/doors to council housing properties (in blocks of flats, tower blocks,sheltered housing complexes, care homes or the like). Replacement door entry system to be electric wireless intercom accesscontrolled system. New glazed entrance security screens/doors to be generally steel although alternative timber or other materials may be requested on occasion by the Employer. Associated works are to include for completion of design and obtaining appropriate Planning and/or Building Warrant applications and approvals. Works also include survey to determine and approve the full scope of the associated works necessary at each location ordered. This may include but not limited to upgrading and replacement of existing external access paths, platts, stairs, ramps, canopies and the like; upgrade and replacement of existing entrance lighting; replacement signage to common areas; upgrade and replacement of existing fire/smoke detection and fire stopping provisions to common areas and on occasion to individual flats identified by the Employer; any other such work identified by the Employer; all builderswork and making good. The installations are generally to occupied domestic properties however, may include void domestic properties and owner occupier properties. Provision of a 24hours a day, 7 days per week call out service is required for the contracted maintenance period. Whilst working in an occupied property, use of the tenant's power is prohibited at all times.. Bidders should note that it is possible that the Transfer of Undertakings(Protection of Employment)Regulations 2006(SI2006/246) ("TUPE")may apply to this contract.
