Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Police Authority has recently completed a procurement process involving a contract variation for the provision of Refurbished Multi-Functional Devices (MFDs) and associated services. The process falls under the "goods" category and was conducted using a selective procurement method, specifically a restricted procedure. The contract, initially set to expire on 1st December 2019, was extended to 31st December 2020 due to delays caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The contract value is £825,000, and the final award was signed on 29th June 2020 at the Scottish Police Authority's office located at 1 Pacific Quay, Glasgow, G51 1DZ.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in the supply of refurbished technology equipment and related services, particularly those that can accommodate government specifications for operational continuity. Companies with expertise in MFDs, especially those that can respond efficiently to public sector procurement processes, would be well-positioned to compete. With the strategic importance of maintaining business operations in the public safety and general service sectors, businesses keen on engaging with contract variations and extending service provisions may find this a valuable opportunity.
