Summary of the contracting process

The Highland Council is currently seeking bids for the "Invercoe Bridge Replacement" project, which involves the construction of a 60m long, two-span steel and concrete composite bridge located on B863 in Glencoe Village, Scotland. This procurement process is currently in the tender stage, with a submission deadline of 14 August 2020. The total contract value is £3,250,000, and applicants are required to submit their proposals electronically as part of a selective procurement method using a restricted procedure. Bidders should be aware that a minimum turnover of £6.5 million for the past three financial years is necessary to qualify.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for construction firms, particularly those specialising in bridge construction and civil engineering. Businesses with experience in similar projects, strong health and safety credentials, and relevant past performance will find this a suitable opportunity. The selection process will be competitive, targeting a limited number of qualified suppliers, which allows for focused engagement and potential collaboration in this large-scale infrastructure development, slated to commence in winter 2020.
