Lot Information
Lot 1
Dundee City Council (the "Council") is delivering the Broughty Ferry Flood Protection Scheme to reduce the overall risk of flooding for the large areas of Broughty Ferry that have been identified as being at significant risk. In conjunction with this scheme, the Council is seeking to improve the National Cycle Network (NCN01 East) between; Douglas Terrace (west at Grassy Beach) to Broughty Ferry Castle to Balmossie Rail Station and into Angus Council up to Marine Drive which includes the replacement of the Dighty Bridge. In addition the project is looking at improvements to strategic routes that can link into the main route and therefore increase users. (https://broughtyferryactivetravel.com/) The Council has received funding through Sustrans' Places for Everyone Fund to develop the feasibility study to "Developed design" stage (Sustran's Project Pack V1.0 Category 3). It is assumed for the purpose of this contract, to maintain continuity throughout the Project life cycle that funding will be provided [subject to successful application by DCC] from Sustrans for: - Technical design - Construction and - Post Construction (Please note that should funding not be allocated beyond any given point, this Contract will be terminated. The Artist should take account of this in his pricing as no compensation will be offered if the Contract does not lead to conclusion of all works packages). The Council is looking to procure the services of suitably experienced Artists to submit proposals for Public Art to provide "Placemaking" on the route that will encourage walking, cycling, wheeling and that provide enjoyment, comfort and protection. Currently there are currently six separate opportunities and Dundee City Council is looking to gauge the level of interest from suitably experienced Artists for each of the commissions;. DCC can confirm that the full scope of works will be outlined within the tender documents
