The University of Edinburgh wishes to appoint a single supplier to support the University Estates team with the Service and Maintenance of defined mechanical services within both buildings, including a programme of air filter exchanges for all the air handling supply and extract systems within the two buildings, including the provision of the safe disposal of the used air filters, so keeping these services in a good and safe working order - The project will deliver the service contract to inspect, service and maintain specific mechanical building services within the Bumstead and Greenwood Buildings' avian facilities in line with Home Office requirements - Strategic Supplier Partnership - Compliance with Public Procurement regulations - Develop a partnership approach with Supply chain with Estates Project management throughout the contract. - Further enforce the University of Edinburgh's reputation and global ranking. - Contract and Supplier Management with agreed service levels. - Compliance with Reported Key Performance Indicators The proposed contract period is an initial 2 year contract with an option to extend for a further 1 year + 1 year to 2024.

The University of Edinburgh wishes to appoint a single supplier to support the University Estates team with the Service and Maintenance of defined mechanical building services within two avian research buildings, including the provision of air filters serving the supply and extract ventilation systems, so keeping these services in a good and safe working order. The project will deliver the service contract to inspect, service and maintain specific mechanical building services within the Bumstead and Greenwood Buildings' avian facilities in line with Home Office requirements. All service and maintenance tasks shall be in line with the requirements of the relevant SFG 20 task schedules and the manufacturer's recommendations. Within both buildings, the birds are kept in a specific pathogen free (SPF) status allowing research into their susceptibility and resistance to avian pathogens. The buildings are equipped with various air filtration media to assist in the control measures required to operate such as facility. The successful Contractor must be familiar with the HSE 'Respiratory hazards of poultry dust - Statement of evidence' and 'Controlling exposure to poultry dust: Guidance for employers - ais39' documentation to inform their particular risk assessments and working method statements. Other services that shall be serviced and maintained under this contract are: - General air handling and ventilation systems - LTHW heating systems including plate heat exchangers - Chilled Water systems - DX cooling integral to air handling system - Ultra-violet water sterilisers - Water storage tanks, hot water calorifiers and domestic water distribution systems (excluding L8 checks) - Smoke control installation - Plant room cleanliness The contract shall also have provision for the Contractor to undertake instructed reactive, repair and replacement tasks relating to the maintained systems.. Economic operators may be excluded from this competition if there are any of the situations referred to in regulation 58 of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015
Renewal: option to extend for a total of 2 years. 1 year plus 1 year.
