Notice Description
The Scottish Government's Directorate of Children and Families, Improving Health and Wellbeing Division has appointed a Service Provider to provide Managing Agent Services for the supply and distribution of Scotland's Baby Box and support services for the Best Start Grant processes. The intended date of operational service delivery commencement is from 1st April 2022 to 31st March 2027 (with potential extension to 31st March 2029).

The Scottish Government's Directorate of Children and Families, Improving Health and Wellbeing Division has appointed a Service Provider to provide Managing Agent Services for the supply and distribution of Scotland's Baby Box and support for the Best Start Grant processes. The Baby Box is intended as a universal welcome gift and is one of a range of measures provided to give children the best possible start in life and forming part of wider action the Scottish Government is taking to tackle deprivation, inequality and improve public health. The Boxes aim to support parents and provide families with essential items such as digital thermometers, clothes, books, a changing mat, blankets, and other items needed in the baby's first few months of life and provides a safe space for babies to sleep. The Managing Agent Services include: - Sourcing and Production Baby Box and Contents - Design, Print and Publication Services - Storage and Stock Management - Box and Contents Assembly - Box Distribution & Delivery - Customer Support Services (including Best Start Grant processing) - Contract Management, Communication and Reporting - Stakeholder Engagement. The total value of the procurement reflects the maximum potential value of the contract, including both the initial five years and the potential additional 24 month extension period.
Renewal: It is intended that operational service delivery commencement will be from 1st April 2022 to 31st March 2027. The contract allows for extension for an additional 24 months from 1st April 2027 to 31st March 2029.
