ICT Resource Planning Solutions
Notice Description
Police Scotland ICT are carrying out early market engagement to understand what options are available to support an ICT resource planning solution. The ICT Skills Demand Manger is writing an options paper, which will include details and benefits of either building our own resource planning application or purchasing an externally funded version. ICT are not in a position to offer any contract or estimated budget at this stage, but are hoping to reach out to the market, to get an idea of what is available, at roughly what price and how a solution could integrate with our internal applications.

Lot 1
The resource planning solution should be able to provide the following features: o The application must be user friendly o Link to an internal application (SQL based) to capture ICT Demand split within the 6 ICT demand categories & job codes o Support the forecasting of FTE requirements by team / individual / skill set by date and demand category o Provide ability to request FTE by ICT work type - with full audit trail of what team/skill/individual has been requested, rejected, committed and completed o Abstraction (shrinkage) management o Support ICT staff schedules - showing scheduled, available, committed and abstraction time - possible internal application link here o FTE availability status and variance at all structure levels o ICT staff having the ability to record actual time spent in each activity o Track staff costs at all levels of the planning model, team, department, category type and individual task number o Have the ability to capture and record a skill matrix, which will be used for personal develop and also to be clear when a skill set is available / over requested o Reporting of all aspects of the planning model, including FTE variance, FTE forecasted / allocated to each category, skill requirement & variance, cost per activity - with the ability to export all data for internal reporting purposes. An indicative price will be sought for approximately 400 licences.
