Glasgow Life is exploring options for delivering a live events services framework. The scope may include but not be limited to services for events occurring both indoors and outdoors in the following discipline areas: - Temporary Event Safety and Security Management Support - Crewing Services - Site Crew Outdoor Events Stage Crew Venues - Crewing Services - Site Crew Indoor Events Stage Crew Venues - Production Manager Services - Temporary Assistant Site Manager - Please note that at this stage the scope of the framework and its lots have yet to be determined and therefore may change from those stated in this notice.

Temporary Event Safety and Security Management Support
Glasgow Life manages and delivers a wide range of major events throughout the year. Glasgow Life is looking for individuals and/or companies who can fulfil the roles outlined below. The specification below gives a brief overview of the key responsibilities which this role will include however this list is not exhaustive. - Deliver the safe operational management of all major outdoor non-venue events and as such be present on-site as and when required throughout the event build, the event itself and the de-rig of the event working closely with the Safety and Security Manager and the Site Manager. - Be responsible for devising and reviewing required documentation for major, outdoor non-venue, events including event risk assessments, event safety plans, medical risk assessments and medical plans, method statements, wind management plans, emergency procedures, contingency plans, site safety rules and any other documents as required. - Provide guidance to the GL Events team on all necessary legislation and paperwork, scrutinise all paperwork collated by the GL Events team e.g. electrical and gas certificates -Provide event specific safety and security advice to the GL Events team - Deliver the Event Safety Plan in liaison with the Emergency services - Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and preparation of CPP for each event - Inspect of method statements and risk assessments from contractors and ensure compliance whilst contractor's works are being carried out on site - Prepare, collate and deliver event specific site health and safety inductions - Undertake the role and perform the responsibilities of Health & Safety Manager during the build and de-rig phases of the event as and when required. - Responsible for temporary event overlay health & safety matters at all times - Responsible for first aid during the build and de-rig phases, ensuring incident reporting in line with Glasgow Life policy -Ensure the members of the JACC are appropriately briefed on event related health and safety matters each day - Support the Safety and Security Manager in ensuring that all agencies within the JACC make decisions in line with the Event Safety Plan and all relevant Glasgow Life policies and procedures - Undertake accident and incident investigations and provide written reports as required - Monitor ingress, egress and movement of spectators inside and outside the venue - Attend Section 89 inspections, licence walk rounds and handover meeting - Undertake project activities as directed - Attend project meetings as required - Please note that at this stage the scope of the framework and its lots have yet to be determined and therefore may change from those stated in this notice.
Crewing Services - Site Crew Outdoor Events Stage Crew VenuesGlasgow Life Events is looking for suppliers to provide crew for the build and de-rig of their annual portfolio of outdoor events and as required throughout the duration of these events. -Crew will be required to work to the direction of the Glasgow Life Event Operations Management Team or relevant GCC Neighbourhoods and Sustainability Event Management Team (Further events and dates for GCC Neighbourhoods and Sustainability Management Team will be released in due course if applicable). These are in no way a guarantee of work but as outlined are intended to provide an understanding of the scope of works. Tasks will include but will not be limited to:- Forklift Operation Telehandler Operation MEWP Operation HGV Provision & Operation, transport and movement of Glasgow Life Events owned and Hired infrastructure Drivers with full UK driving licence Stage & temporary demountable structures erection Barrier/Heras layout Laying floor/ground coverings De-littering Set out of cabins Layout fire extinguishers Reconfiguration of site as required Stage hands Unload and load of event vehicles Runner duties Site Crew must have full personal protective equipment including steel toe cap boots, hard hat, hi-vis vest and a basic toolkit. Crew must have suitable and sufficient weather resistant clothing. Any crew who will drive or operate any plant used will be required to have any relevant documentation such as licences or certification available for inspection on request. Crew will be representing Glasgow Life and as such must be presentable and wear their own company's branded uniform unless requested to wear event specific clothing.
Crewing Services - Site Crew Indoor Events Stage Crew VenuesThe following specification details crewing service requirements for the delivery of Glasgow Life events within our Arts & Cultural Venue's These are in no way a guarantee of work but as outlined are intended to provide an understanding of the scope of works. -Assist with setup, operation and derig of stage equipment for events -Assist with setup and derig of furniture for events -Assist with setup, operation and derig of lighting, sound and audio visual equipment for events -Assist with the installation and derig of temporary floor coverings for events -Assist with the loading and unloading of event vehicles -Assist with the build and derig of stage extensions, stage rostra, stage barriers and temporary staging to event specification -Banksman duties -Assist with the movement of seating wagons -Followspot operation -Operation of MEWPs -General stage duties -Work across all Glasgow life Venues; Indoor, outdoor, permanent and temporary -Runner duties Crew will be representing Glasgow Life and as such must be presentable and wear their own company black work wear uniform unless requested to wear event specific branded clothing. Any crew reporting without uniform/equipment will be refused entry to Glasgow Life venue's/sites. Qualified Banksman will be responsible for the direction of and movement of production vehicles on public thoroughfare and site management of vehicle segregation area. General - Crew must have full personal protective equipment including steel toe cap boots, hard hat, hi-vis vest and a basic toolkit. Crew must have suitable and sufficient weather resistant clothing. The successful supplier shall provide Glasgow Life with suitable and sufficient Risk Assessments and Method Statements/Safe Systems of Work relating to all work activity carried out by their staff in line with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, the management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and all other Health and Safety legislation relevant to stage operations
Production Manager ServicesGlasgow Events manages and delivers a wide range of major events throughout the year. Glasgow Events is looking for individuals and/or companies who can fulfil the roles outlined below. The specification below gives a brief overview of the key responsibilities which this role will include however this list is not exhaustive. -Scope the project requirements for stage managers, production assistants and artist liaison staff -Assist with the recruitment of stage managers, production assistants and artist liaison staff -Prepare and deliver briefings for stage management, production and artist liaison staff -Attend planning meetings as required -Liaison with the Event Operations Manager and Project Manager in the planning phase regarding build and de-rig schedules and all technical information -Creation of the production schedule for the events -Liaise with different agencies and individuals involved in the production aspect of the event, e.g. suppliers, contractors, artists etc. -Liaise with artists in the gathering of technical requirements -Prepare documentation for Event Delivery Plan -Ensure that health and safety guidelines such as site and venue rules, wind management systems etc. are followed on event day in conjunction with the Project Manager, the Safety & Security Manager and the Event Operations Manager. -Scope and arrange requirements for production stage crew as required -Specify and procure backline as required - Please note that at this stage the scope of the framework and its lots have yet to be determined and therefore may change from those stated in this notice.
Temporary Assistant Site ManagerGlasgow Life manages and delivers a wide range of major events throughout the year. Glasgow Life is looking for individuals and/or companies who can fulfil the roles outlined below. The specification below gives a brief overview of the key responsibilities which this role will include however this list is not exhaustive. Pre-event in association with the event operations team evaluate site services and attend meetings as required -Liaison with the Event Operations Manager and Project Manager in the planning phase regarding build and de-rig schedules and all technical information -Work in conjunction with the Event Operations Manager for the placement of all site infrastructure -Supervise the build and de-rig of all site infrastructure -Supervise the ongoing maintenance of all site infrastructure as required -Supervise contracted staff, contractors and labour -Assist in compiling power requirements for the event and liaising with event electricians using the events template and meeting the specification deadlines -Ensure that health and safety guidelines such as but not limited to site and venue rules, wind management systems are followed in conjunction with the Project, Event and Safety & Security Manager -Liaise with partner agencies in the technical specification of all infrastructure requirements coordinating the services of all sub contractors and specialised trades to ensure the delivery of the event as per the planning process -Ensure that all plant and onsite vehicles are properly used, stored and maintained -Prioritise workload within a multi-disciplined environment, meeting pre-determined deadlines and ensuring work is accurate and methodical -Manage unforeseen issues with the appropriate personnel or agencies to the point of resolution to ensure that the site is ready for event day -Ensure that all contractors take part in the site induction prior to commencing any work on site - Please note that at this stage the scope of the framework and its lots have yet to be determined and therefore may change from those stated in this notice.
