Supply and Installation of Variable Message Boards
Notice Description
(CalMac Ferries Ltd) CFL operates 27 variable message boards (VMBs) around its ferry network. These signs display route information and are centrally managed by CFL's Service Updates Team (SUT) in Gourock using a single application. The boards are to replace existing boards at the following routes: - A830 (Opp Lochaber High School at Fort William): Information for all Mallaig services - A87 (at Skye Bridge): Information for all Uig services - A851(Broadford near A87 Junction): Information for all Armadale services Only these three are in scope of this procurement. The information displayed on these boards is out of date as the services provided at Mallaig, Uig, and Armadale have changed since installation. In addition, the boards use out of date technology that is relatively expensive to maintain and prevents accurate information being relayed to passengers en route to their port of departure. Therefore, CFL will be replacing the three VMBs.

The information displayed on these boards is out of date as the services provided at Mallaig, Uig, and Armadale have changed since installation. In addition, the boards use out of date technology that is relatively expensive to maintain and prevents accurate information being relayed to passengers en route to their port of departure. Each of the new displays should contain: - Route information which can be fixed or variable, this will be dependent on the quotes provided for both options* - Real Time Travel information (variable) - arrival and departure times, updates and travel warnings *All signs must be compliant with Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions as they apply to the context within which they the signs will be sited

Technical Ability Based on the information provided and your experience, please give details of your technical ability to meet the requirements of the proposed services to include, as a minimum: - Supply and installation of VMBs - Installed and constructed civils (ground works) on the Road/carriageway - Evidence that installations and commissioning will be carried out by competent site employees who hold the relevant site working certificates and qualifications Documented Quality Management procedures - Statement of the usual manpower and number of managerial staff available to support and maintain this Contract - Statement of the tools, plant and technical equipment available for carrying out this Contract - HITRANS will exclude a tender if it does not demonstrate that the tenderer can meet the above requirements. Quality Assurance Does your firm have any formal quality assurance policies and procedures, QMS to ISO 9000 or similar, including trade body quality procedures; If YES, please list the accreditation and enclose copies of any certification."
